Why is training important?
Government funded micro generation schemes such as Feed in Tariff and Renewable Heat Incentive can only be accessed by installers certificated under the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS).
To achieve MCS status the applicant must: 1. Demonstrate the skills, knowledge and practical competence to design, install and commission the technology 2. Demonstrate good working practices for consumer protection 3. Demonstrate control processes for purchasing, invoicing, complaints management, quality and record keeping
How is Plumb Center helping with this?
Developing a network of BPEC accredited training centres where customers learn practical installation and design skills. Providing simplified access to MCS through our partnership with NAPIT.
Where are the Renewables Training Centres?
We have already developed renewables training centres in Leamington Spa and Sevenoaks where around 20 renewable products courses are on offer including solar panels, biomass and solar pv. To supplement this we have opened satellite training centres in Leeds, Orpington and Exeter that will offer the most popular courses such as thermal solar and unvented cylinder.

As well as developing a network of training centres Plumb Center is opening a network of Renewable Displays where you and your customers can see renewable and sustainable technology such as solar panels, biomass and solar pv in action. All the displays will be fully operational so you can see first hand how they work and how they are installed so you can decide the best renewable energy solution for your next project.
MCS Accreditation
Plumb Center & NAPIT working together to provide a simple MCS registration process and a £100 discount for our customers towards their MCS accreditation.
NAPIT’s Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) is a simple route for installers to become registered and enable them to install renewable technologies and introduce Feed-in-Tariffs (FITs) and Government Grants through the Renewable Heating Incentive (RHI) to their customers.
Simply call the NAPIT team on 0845 543 0330 and quote your Plumb Center account number and they will begin your MCS registration process.
