Product Description

The key features of a flat plate collector include; an absorber plate from which heat can be transferred to a solar fluid; a cover which is transparent to solar radiation; insulation at the back and sides of the absorber plate; a weatherproof case for all round protection. Alpha SolarSmart uses a flat plate collector, which is glazed and insulated to ensure maximum solar gain at all times. The collector can be supplied in portrait or landscape versions and is easily fitted into the roof flashing plate with six securing bolts, which locate on to the pre-fitted brackets. The collector must always be able to fully drain back, therefore the lowest part of the collector must be above the pipes of the drain back unit. SolarSmart must be used in conjunction with an Alpha combination boiler and fitted with the Alpha Solar Valve, which is supplied with the system.
